KELOWNA, BC – January 1, 2018: Awarded by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association in recognition of the best of the building industry in the Okanagan, Tommie Awards recognize recipients for their consistent standard for excellence, talent and commitment.   For over 26 years, the Tommie Awards have been used to identify industry members for impressive, innovative, quality projects, encouraging the continual quality and creativity of new homes in the Okanagan.  It ensures home owners/buyers who choose to build with a Tommie award winner the promise of quality and professionalism.

Recipients of the 2018 Gold Tommie for Excellence in Urban Infill – Residential Category, Edgecombe’s Citihomes stole the category for the development and construction of the contemporary, appealing and neighborhood invigorating Citihomes multifamily development on St.Paul.

Designed and constructed in under 24 months, the project had a commercial approach to site preparation, materials selection, construction management and completion which ensured a well-constructed and amenity rich product at a reasonable price point, setting it apart from all other residential infill projects in its category.

The category Excellence in the Urban Infill – Residential encompasses any type of development which is added to an existing developed property, or on a vacant property in an otherwise developed area considering aspects of the build, such as the exteriors: architectural character, unique attributes including amenities, green space etc, curb appeal, and integration of the project into its setting; the interiors: creative and innovative use of space including architectural detail and form, functionality of floor plans and environmental considerations including energy efficiency.
